Sony DVD writer's problem

My Sony's DVD writer is giving problems writing..

I have written some data DVDs with some video files now when I run the DVD it shows its blank.. I have tried my friends DVD-RW to but same problem..

but his DivX player reads & plays the disk.. Any help.. ??
