Help
Hello everyone,
I hope this is the right forum to ask for this. I went to finallyfast.com and did a scan, not realizing that it would, of course, cost money to fix the erors it would find. It found over 700 errors (no wonder my computer has been so slow) and I would like to know if it is possible to fix them using software on this site, if so what can I download? I'd also like to get rid of old readme files and things like that that I no longer use.
Could anyone help me please? Thank you very much.

There are some freeware and commercial retail products you can try.
Ccrap Cleaner is a good freeware app that fixes registry entries, cleans out cache, temp files etc.
HIjack this is a great free tool if suspect being hijacked i.e. slowdowns due to adware, spyware etc.
Using DISK CLEANUP, ccrap cleaner along with Windows defrag will do a decent job.
Tuneup Utilities, System Mechanic, Fix It Utilites 9 or Norton SystemWorks are a few popular retail all-in-one suites.
*Can be downloaded as trial versions before consider buying.

If you suspect major probs and rarely maintained your computer in the past then sometimes a clean format is the faster, efficient solution. Otherwise, you will have to dig deeper for malware, spyware, virii, trojans, worms etc that may be infecting your computer. A good firewall, anti-virus and on-demand scanner for spyware/malware/adware can't be stressed enough. Just using an alternative browser like Firefox can reduce chance of being infected or being hijacked.

EDIT: I just want to say that freed up IMMENSE disk space just by using the CrapCleaner! I now have a whole GB to work with, that really helps. I can't figure out how to edit my post so that I can change the thread title, but this request is now FILLED thanks to Mischcabob. I really appreciate that! Thanks again!
