BSplayer vs Real Alternative woes :S

I downloaded and tried to use BSplayer version 1.22 (FREE) Build 817.

It doesn't seem to work properly with Real Alternative 1.37 (latest version). Plus sometimes BSplayer crashes on divx avi files for no reason.

I remember using BSplayer older version - BSplayer [version 0.86.501] (bundled with K-Lite Codec Pack Full 2.20). That was a perfect version using Real Alternative.

I shall go back to this old version, but please could BSplayer fix/sort out the Real Alternative compatibility issue.

Thanks

PS: BSplayer is the best player.

I think you can't compare Real Alternative (which, by the way isn't player) with BSPlayer... rolleyes.gif

Don't think he's comparing them, but rather trying to get them to work together.
Keep in mind the version of BS player you are using is beta so expect some bugs/compatibility issues.

There's always a reason.. if don't provide details ie. error log. how do you expect people to fix bugs?
I suggest you go to the source and submit the bug. We don't develop these programs so we can't help you. rolleyes.gif
Anyway, there are better, more stable players that work besides BS player.
VLC, Zoom player, MPC just to name a few.

Yea, and i understand you like BSPlayer, it's great or at least it was (the old releases) rolleyes.gif

But also understand, the Real Alternative (and QT Alt.) codecs are designed to work with Media Player Classic the best. That's why they're bundled with MPC in the Real and Quicktime Alternative packages. rolleyes.gif

Just wondering who are the author(s)/programmers of Real Alternative? I really like to use Real Alt. with BSplayer (just like the old days) because I just like BSplayer's borderless video screen and able to resize it using wheel-mouse-scroller.

I notice that the older RealAlt versions work fine with BSplayer, however it doesn't play the new Real formats (just standard old ones). But the latest versions of RealAlt don't work with BSplayer now.

I take it that's why there's always new releases of RealAlt - whenever newer Real codecs get released, a newer version of RealAlt gets released?

Please please could the author(s)/programmers of RealAlt bring back support for BSplayer please.

BSplayer used to be bundled with K-Lite Codec Pack and also the RealAlt, QuicktimeAlt. BSplayer was flawless with all the older codecs. Now they changed over to MPC and abandoned BSplayer. Maybe MPC is more favourable or something... so support for BSplayer faded away whilst MPC is given more support.

What am saying is that please please can we get BSplayer back again. Just like old times. I love BSplayer because of the borderless video window, and able to resize the video screen using the mouse-wheel-scroller.

The last version of RealAlt that works with any BSplayer I believe was RealAlt 1.30. Any RealAlt version higher than 1.30 will crash any version of BSplayer.

However, can't seem to play the new Real media formats. Can play the old Real files fine, just not the new Real formats. (I can play some Real files and some I cannot play - using RealAlt standalone).

How does one find out about the Real media format of a file? I tried using Gspot but it didn't give me much details.

Yes, i like BSPlayer too as i wrote, and would be great to be set as default QT and Real Alternative player. So let's ask for this together: pleeeeeease bundle it! biggrin.gif

BTW i don't play often Real Media and QuickTime content (i hate them rolleyes.gif ).
For the few i play, MPC seems to be satisfying (usually).

I agree. Who are the people packaging K-Lite Codec Pack? Is it the people who made/hacked K-Lite themselves? Kazaa-Lite???
