I recommend this Anti-Virus Software.

It has one of the greatest technology in Detecting, Recognizing and Identifying the virus - better than the well-known others (Norton AV, etc.) - based on a lot of comparison reviews. And this program rarely plays a role as a target of the viruses.

My friend has this program, he hasn't gotton a virus yet. I might try it out some time, im currently using Norton. We will see. smile.gif

i downloaded it its ok but i don't think it scans hotmail and yahoo if thats true then nothing i want i would reather stick to norton. and norton has internet worm protection i dought avg does. and norton is all set up after you get it installed and updated your all set don't have to fool around with the e-mail scaner. with avg you can't e-mail for help unless you buy it that realy $uck$. don't get much for free with programs like that ones you buy is the best like norton.

You can't compare free antivirus with paid pro versions. wink.gif
Haven't used many AVs have you? Norton is bloated and slow.. NOD32 and Kaspersky are better choices for paid versions.
AVG does have email protection scanning thru your mail program (POP3 mail), but not sure about Yahoo/hotmail which are web-based.
That's where your ISP (many offer services now) or online scanning comes in handy.

Also Bitdefender is free and powerful. Check it out.

no i haven't used meny AVs lol i have always used just norton. the ones you told me about are they ones you have tryed or just heard about? the kaspersky takes care of worms to like norton think i will try the personal one the pro is more then i would want to pay for if i desided i wanted to keep it. when you use one for so long its hard to try something else don't know if you can realy trust it with norton i have never had a virus with my e-mail i don't go open up everything i always delete junk mail i only open mail from programs i have bought or from close friends or ones i know i can trust. ty for telling me about them maybe i'll let you know what i think of it and if i deside to keep it and get rid of norton getting rid of norton is a scary thought lol.

No prob. It does come down to personal preference. I have used half a dozen different programs over the years.
AVG free version won't replace your Norton.. since it is bit stripped down compared to the Pro version, but it's good alternative for people who don't like to pay for software. wink.gif

AVG Free has provided my system with quality protection. The occasional trojan slips through but a seperate trojan scanner is a good idea regardless of your AV software.

If I get an e-mail on Hotmail or Yahoo that I wish to save on my hard drive, I forward it to my POP3 account, then download using Mozilla Thunderbird.

Hotmail has its own virus scanner.... which most likely is way more up-to-date then ours and it won't let you download anything that has a unfixable virus. I thought yahoo does too.... but I'm not sure I barley ever use yahoo....

Perhaps, if you get paid service. I have gotten 6 worms (Sober.O variant) in last few weeks through hotmail so doesn't seem to do anything. Luckily my antivirus (NOD32) catches them in outlook. wink.gif

AVG Anti-Virus FREE Edition is the well-known anti-virus protection tool. . . .

I use the full-blown commercial AVG product on my main desktop PC in the house and AVG Free on all my laptops. It's simply GREAT.

But I have a question.

Lately, I have noticed that AVG demands a reboot after every update of the virus definitions, which occurs every day, in order to complete the update process. That didn't happen before; AVG only occasionally asked for a reboot. Now, it's every time. Any ideas, anyone?

THANK YOU ):

AVG is great, Im using it 6 months now. Absolutely no problems.

Before I had Norton (the whole pack), it slows down the pc a lot and I had to use a special software (MSIFIX, SymNRT and SYMMSICLEANUP) to deinstall it completely.

After Norton I used Bitdefender Free, good freeware, but AVG is much better!

I can highly recommend AVG to everyone, who wants to use freeware.

I am using this one the only problem I get is to update the free version. I got some problems because the server tends to get busy most of the time.
