Lots of comparisons on the internet and most are biased in some way or another.
This one is a fair assessment. NOD32 and Kaspersky are definately the best in my books.
Of course, I recommend NOD32 if running older PC and want faster scanning/better performance.
Check out the link:
http://antivirus-rating-2005.info/When we compare virus scanners or anti-virus software, the most evident fact is that effective applications must be more than just multi-layered within the application itself. It is now a given that any appropriate level of protection includes packet scanning, signature attrition and behavior analysis. While NOD32 is the best in my book, there is a large grey area between a signature and a zero-day virus. So what becomes important is how well you can stay performance optimal by integrating without excessive over-lapping. NOD32 is a good match with PrevX for Intrusive Behavior Recognition, and works well with Ewido the anti-Trojan along side MS Giant (antispyware). Remember also that with any Security infrastructure the first mistake of not reading the alerts properly will result in a higher probability of social engineering success. In this light there is a point of universal equality between NOD32, AVG, Bit Defender, Symantec, Kaspersky, McAfee, in the protection effectiveness, but not in the user interface and configuration friendliness.
All the best;
