Hi.

I am new here. A friend directed me to this site to get help with a error code and problems with Audio Codecs.

I am not a computer person, so I need all the help I can get.

I currently have DIVX (I don't know what version though), MediaPlayer 10, and PowerDVD (again I don't know what version) on my computer. My friend recently gave me a copy of two movies for DIVX. When I try to play them, I get an error that says "Audio codec is needed to play this file". I don't get any other code number or anything else.

I also have two other movies that won't play due to codec problems. These should just play in the PowerDVD (the best to my knowledge). With these I do get an error code "COOD109B". Now other movies that he has given me play fine in Power, so I don't know what the problem is with these two.

Can anyone help me please. I am very computer stupid when it comes to this stuff so anything that anyone can do to help I would appreciate it. Also if you can help, please let me know step-by-step what to do.

Thanks in advance.

You should analyze the file with GSpot or AVIcodec (if it's not .avi). You'll get the information, what audio codec to download & install.

In connection with error "COOD109B" see this topic.
