This stuff is new to me so I'm probably missing the obvious. I just installed MPC and if I manually select a .vob or .ifo file on an inserted DVD using Windows Explorer it will play just fine. I believe that tells me MPC is using a codec that can properly play the DVD.

However, when I insert the DVD, instead of autoplaying I get a messagge from windows stating that no windows 2000 compatible codec is installed. What setting in MPC or windows am I missing to get the autoplay to start. I'm running windows 2K and using a Plextor PX708A drive.

Any help is gratefully accepted.

MPC has got autorun support for audio/video/DVD/music for WINXP under VIEW..OPTIONS..PLAYER..FORMAT. Not sure about Win2000 since don't use it.

However, recommend using WINDVD or PowerDVD that have autorun or disc detector. Not to mention using MPEG2 decoder and better quality playback. cool.gif

Thanks...I guess 2K doesn't support it since that option is not present.
