I have used K-Lite 2.41, and after reloading the PC after a "late Spring cleaning," I just loaded 2.50. Great to run GSpot and not see any "red;" 168 loaded and all good.
I got a message trying to play a clip saying I needed a "compressor," and none was available at MS when I was linked there. I use Classic Media Player but that wouldn't open it either.
Is there a generic "list" of compressors I can install that plays nice with K-Lite? I went to the search results of "compressor" and found a jillion of them - any recommendations? I did mark "all" the checkboxes on a FULL install of 2.50 - but there's something missing or the clip was "defective."
Thanks so much in advance/ paul

Would be good to know what file it is.
Did you check the clip separately with G-Spot ?
When the problem appears only with one file, must be the clip itself.
MPC is agood player, another option is to try it with VLC Player.
If the clip is broken, there are tools to fix it.
Like for mpegs "Mpeg-Corrector" or for avis "DivFix".
If this is not the solution, I dont know whats a good compressor for k-lite.
But you should find a adequate one here on this site.

Thank you Tyler. I assumed it was the clip, and deleted it. Media Play Classic played audio but not video and I made the mistake of not sending it to GSpot.
I will try and find the second suggested player; I was hoping Classic would handle all of it and so far it has - wonderfully. Messed around with BS Player but didn't care for it and I'm not going the WinAmp route again if I can help it.
I use Firefox, and RealMedia and QuickTime video links play just fine with MedPlayer Classic - it's the odd downloaded clip (which could contain NAYTHING, and is double checked with AVAST!) that occasionaly give me problems. When I attempted to open in WindowsMedia Player it sent me to the MS site, where I was informed it needed a compressor of some type (not mentioned) - but no other details. Thanks for your kind response.
