Well, I'll be honest, I'm looking for a replacement for Winamp, it's still my primary audio player and it's just about the only player out there that can play NSV streams (VLC can play streams that don't have VP3 - VP6 codecs, and Winamp seems unable to play streams that don't use the VP codecs -or at least I couldn't get it to work)
As for Shoutcast streams... well I could play Shoutcast, Icecast and Streamcast audio streams in Media Player Classic with the Storm Codec Pack and in prettymuch any other player I have installed without the Winamp Alternative. I couldn't get it to work with video streams though however I didn't install the version of MPC that came with the Winamp Alternative (I already have a version, the one that came with Storm Codec)
Whether or not there's some sort of conflict between the two codec packs or whether the Alternative needs its own version of MPC I don'tknow, I didn't bother to find out, Winamp isn't terminally crap (yet) but it doesn't appear to be moving forward development wise and I think it's beginning to show its age. I'd love VLC to sort out their troubles with VP3 based NSV streams (or even better, a DirectShow filter for NSV, which should have happened a long time ago)

The only thing I think is missing from K-Lite that would make it better is if they added an iTunes Alternative. That would really rock.
You hear that K-Lite development team (if your reading this) I suggest an iTunes Alternative next.
Not meaning to be a spam merchant, but there's an
open-source iTunes Alternative being worked on this minutes, it's only at 0.1 though and is currently Windows only, has a fair bit of potential although it's not quite there yet, there's quite a bit of work to do on it (and it uses the VLC engine rather than DirectShow, although I suppose it would have to if it's to be cross-platform) but I'll be watching it closely, I know that much!
