It's unbelivable. Now apple has came out with the revolutionary i-pod nano. I-pod nano - 4gb, color, picture storage, 14 hours of battery life, all fit into a mp3 player as thick as a pencil. To find out more Click Here

Post wether you think it's worth buying, and if you think it's a nice mp3 player.

Well ... it certainly is possible, cuz it's only as thick as a pencil, but it's still wide ... that means a small hard-drive can still fit in there ... and yeah a hard drive that size can store at least 4 gigs.

As to whether it is worth buying:

If you like mp3s then get it.

If you are like me and think the sound quality of mp3 is lame to say the least ... then dont get it ... I wont biggrin.gif ... I'm an old man and I use something which many o' you younguns havent seen in ages .... a CD player ... but I can tell you something kids ... the sound quality of a CD player is infinitely better than mp3. Only down side is it takes up about 10x the space on digital media at least (assuming CD is wav quality) ... but what do I care about space I can fit all 6 of my cds into a -- slightly larger than a wallet -- sized case rofl.gif And lets see 6 x 800 MB per disk = 4800 MB or about 4 gigs ... and only 4 times the size of the new nano-pod ohmy.gif ( 4 nano pods fit into about a wallet sized CD case + CD player ... actually I use my car's CD player more often than the hand-held one) Hey but quality is about 10x better ... so doing the math ... 4 x size but 10x the quality ... I choose the CD player. (Not to mention that you can accidentally erase all you music on the iPod with about 2 key-strokes ... as happened live on CNN and I will never forget) rofl.gif

I've herd that the I-pod nano freezes up a lot. dry.gif Like thats a big shock ohmy.gif . I have a friend his U2 i-pod froze up, and it is still frozen after like 5 months. If they could fix the freezing aspect it would be a little better. dry.gif mellow.gif

I agree, the Nano is over rated. Ipods are mp3 players for the fashion conscious in my opinion, plus the batterys suck.
I'll stick with my 20gb Creative Zen Touch smile.gif

Quality can be quite good if use a bitrate 224 and higher like I do. Barely tell the difference unless you are an audiophile or sound engineer.
MP3 players (like walkmans that they replaced) fill the need for portability if you are always "on-the-go" like I am.

In my case, I shopped and did my research before buying an MP3 player. I am not a fan of Apple's proprietary trendy players. I bought a Rio Carbon off ebay for $40 less then an IPOD Shuffle. Rio Carbon had more bang for the buck compared to an Apple Shuffle offering more features, compatibility, more storage (5GB) so that clinched it for me. cool.gif

Ok, well I think walkmans are just as portable as mp3 players, I mean the size difference is not much, and since I dont listen to 400+ songs (only 100- songs) it works well for me.

Oh, as for the higher bitrate, I dunno, but I think I could tell the difference between a wav file (bitrate = 1411 kbps) and an mp3 file (bitrate = 320 kbps) of the same song, blindfolded. Hehe, I just tried it and I win, hahahah biggrin.gif rofl.gif wink.gif

I really like the Dell-pods. thumbsup.gif ( thats what i call them) Their really good quality. I've never herd of one freezing up. Their sound quality is also good. thumbsup.gif They may not have the same sleek design of an I-pod, but their are not a rip-off in my oppinion. On the new Dj Ditty one feature is a FM tuner..
