biggrin.gif Hi everybody....Im Claire from Glasgow Scotland!

Im in a bit of a pickle, downloaded a movie and i dont have any sound. Tells me this error msg:

"You might be able to find it on another site by searching the Web for "2000" (this is the WaveFormat or FourCC identifier of the codec)."

I found some previous posts saying i could download this codec at:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ohdoom/Files/tag2000audio.exe

but i dont think this page exists anymore....and so my trail for the codec has come to a stop....

Help???

Cheers, Claire x

Tag 2000 usually means AC3 codec is missing:

I was able to download the .exe from this site. I don't have any idea of the precedence or relationship between the AC3 codec and this "tag2000audio" exe though, so you should try Mishcabob's solution first, I expect, and hold this one for use if that does not solve your problem.

Jim, that is an ancient tongue.gif version (0.63b from 2002) of AC3 Filter

Claire, i suggest you to use the link provided by Mischcabob - at least AC3Filter 1.01a RC5 is from our age biggrin.gif

ok, i downloaded it and the sound was great, but it seems to play quicker than the movie and its all out of sync. what should i do?

Oh, it all works fine on my computer but when i transferr it to DVD thru DVDSanta, it all screws up-right from the start. I'm converting it to pal, but im not sure if that would make any difference, my dvd player wouldnt play NTSC anyway.

Should i use something else to convert the audio seperatly?

Guess I was premature to mark this tag prob marked solved. unsure.gif

Anyway, maybe check to see this DVDSanta accepts AC3 audio. If not, you will have to use dvd authoring proggie that uses AC3 or convert the audio to WAV or MP2 audio.
