I downloaded a 10 hour mp3 audio file. Its a single file. I want to cut it to 15 minute pieces and save those individual files seperately. (so cutting the 10 hour file will give me 585 15 minute clips)
How can I do this? I know all the basic things in Cool Edit (Adobe audition)..so just tell me what options I need to use to do this?

I edit WAV files on occasion using Cool Edit Pro or SoundForge. Why don't you look into creating a script in Adobe Audition and use batch processing to simplify the process?
P.S. However, it does seem like unnecessary work. I normally just copy whole audiobook on to my MP3 player. Most allow you to bookmark portions and allow you to resume where you left off.

thats the problem I have...my damn DVD player erases all the bookmarks when u switch the power off.
So the only way is to cut the file in to seperate parts.
I do this with a simple program: mp3Extractor and Winamp. There is an option 'Splitter Wizard' in the menu 'Markers' and there you can split it the way you mentioned.
