I'm really new to Cubase SE 2. I used Adobe Audition up to now, but since the end quality is not so good switched to this. (Why does Adobe Auditions Quality deteriorate so much when saving to Wav or MP3 files & how to remedy this?)

I need to rip tracks from a CD, set my preferred EQ setting, Normalize it & save as MP3...

I spent most of my day figuring out how to do this...but still couldn't figure out how.... (the help section complicates things....no help at all from that thing)

PLS help.......

And Is ‘Wave Lab’ a better editor when it comes to making MP3s and Wave files than Cool Edit or Cubase (Quality wise)?

[Use EAC to copy the cd. It will do everything for you and it is free. Just look on the web for EAC and download.

I have ised iTunes, Cooledit, Winamp, Audio grabber, BPM Studio, etc.. and I found that almost all of these have some quality drops..so thats Y switched to Cubase...

So any Cubase fans out there..? pls help...

You must be a musician or audiophile to use that Steinberg program. I used Cakewalk once, but I found it overkill for simple editing, normalization and equalization.

I can't help you with Cubase, but suggest tweak settings if get dropouts. I normally edit/rip PCM 24bit 48khz WAV file then export to at least 192kbit rate MP3 using LAME. Q=0 and using VBR for settings.
I prefer using batch feature of CDex with LAME encoder so does save time.
