There's no real way the lame dll could be crashing your computer by itself, it's probably WMP trying to use the probably corrupt lame dll that is crashing your computer (assuming you are using WMP). So I would try to replace it instead of deleting it right off ... your choice though.

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Lame_Encoder.htmLame includes the following files: lame.exe, lame_enc.dll (ICL4.5) and lameACM.acm (ICL9.0), so to un-install it just search for and remove them. I'm assuming that it's not registry based, which it should not be.
