I have a few old video files that were done on a Mac (I assume as they have a desktop.db and desktop.df files on the cds) These were masters for a vhs video done in about 1998. The files have no extension and I have no Idea what format they are. The company that burned the disks is gone so I can't ask them. How do I determine the format / codecs needed to play and or convert these files to something usable?
The files are on 7 CD and total about 14 gigs. Looking at the files with a hex editor they have different headers but they do not seem to be one file that was split but I'm not sure. I've tried every version of quicktime since 3.0 but none will recognize the files. The headers start with wideÉ8A mdat or just mdat.
Any help would be great - here is a link to the gspot saved headers for the first and second files (50k)
