Hope someone can help. We just went and purchased an off-lease computer with no software as we have the software. I thought that when I started the PC and put WinXP into the hard drive it would just pick it up and load, but not the case.
Is there something special that I should be doing?
Thanks to anyone who can assist.

I would think that the computer would be set to boot from CD, but it sounds like it's not.

If you put the windows XP cd and it's set to boot from CD, it may ask you to press a key to boot from cd, then you will start to see words and stuff loading, then it will ask you a few questions.

If it's not set to boot from cd, then you will have to do that when the computer starts to boot. It will ask hit Del or F2 or F10 to enter Set up. In there you will see something that talks about boot order. You will have to move cd or dvd to first in line.

Let me know what happens.
