I am using MPC 6.4.8.7 and I am unable to play Real clips at Amazon using Opera, but I can play them using Firefox. MPC starts but only displays the message "cannot render the file". I'm able to use Windows Media Player with no problem, so this is only an irritation, but I keep thinking there must be a solution! Thanks for any help.

I assume you are using Real Alternative.
Have you considered there is no supported plugin for Opera? rofl.gif

Yes, I'm using Real Alternative, but the latest version 1.46 (which I have) states there is a RealMedia plugin for Opera/Mozilla/Netscape, and Media Player Classic does perform correctly with Firefox.

Well there might be extra steps to install plugin with Opera. I use FF myself.

When installing Real Alternative, did you make sure that the "Firefox/Mozilla/Netscape/Opera
Plugin" is checked when selecting which components to install? Maybe check options/prefs within Opera to see that it is configured properly.

Thanks for bearing with me. Yes, I definitely specified installation of the plugin, and I've made certain the plugin is present and enabled in Opera. I know the problem must be related to the hurl.exe.ram file type, but I don't know how to work around this in Opera. This has become an intellectual frustration more than a real problem, for I do have ample alternatives to hear the sound clips on Amazon!
