I assume you are running Windows XP home. Here's are a few great guides for installing/formatting a 2nd hard drive. wink.gif

thanks for the info ... the computer i'm installing it in has xp on it .. will the second drive cause any problems because it has 98 or me on it? .. do i use the windows xp disk to do this ?

No, it shouldn't.
You should set in bios to boot to the hard drive with WINXP. I assume the main drive is setup as Primary master and other is setup as slave. Recommend formating it in NTFS within windows.

No need to boot computer with WINXP boot disk unless you want to format using command mode or want to do a repair/clean install of Windows. cool.gif
