Hello All,
I have a question for you all.
My girlfriend wants to add a bigger hard drive to her PC and keep the one she now has for backups.
I've read articles on how to add a hard drive, but mostly they just show adding them as a slave. She wants the new one to be the boot drive.
Is this way correct?
1. Put new HDD as Master Primary, jumpers too.
2. Put old HDD as Slave Primary, also jumpers too.
3. Format the newer HDD.
4. Install Windows XP on the new HDD.
5. Format the old HDD to wipe it clean and enable it to be used for backups.
If this is correct, the PC should boot to bios since the new HDD is new and blank. After formatting and installing Windows on it, now the PC will have Windows on both HDDs. Will this allow her to drag and move files from the old HDD yo the new one before she wipes the old drive?
I can drag and drop files from my C Drive to my D Drive, but I don't have Windows on my secondary drive, that's why I'm wondering if it will work that way.
Thanks in advance
