Hi,
I an new here and I am hoping that someone here can help me.
On my old computer I used to use dbpower amp to make either mp3 or wav smaller to put in stationery but now with the new computer with XP home and SP2 on it I no longer have that choice of using mono which made the songs smaller but now have to use stereo or somechoices with CBR which makes the music file larger than what I started out with or change to wmp format which will not embed into stationery at all and have been told that I need some codecs but have no idea what ones or if I find them where to put them on here so am hoping that someone here can help me with this. Thanks Sandy D

Be nice if knew what you are talking about. embed into Stationery???
To clarify you want to convert MP3/WAv files and reduce the quality, right? Dozens of converters that will do the job. You can reduce the bit rate, alter freq range or amount of bits used depending on the encoder and software you use.
Perhaps my CD encoding/ripping guide will help:

Hi
What I mean by embed in stationery is when you make up a stationery page using html codes you need to do what is called embed a song into it so that when it is viewed by another person they can hear the music.
Being that most stationery has one or more picture images in it along with music it can not be too large in kbs or Yahoo will not accept it in Yahoo groups and those who may still be on dial up do not want large files to go to their mailboxes.
Now what I have are a lot of songs on here that are wav format but are too large so need to compress them down to smaller, say from 700kbs to under or around 300 kbs tops and do it without losing too much of the sound quality.
On my old computer I used the dbpower amp to do that changing a song from stereo or mp3 to a mono with smaller what I call numbers and now with this new computer from what I am told I do not have the correct codecs installed so that I no longer have that mono choice at all but only either stereo or CBR format which is no good as it makes the songs way larger than they were originally or in the windows media player format which you can not use in stationery at all.
I hope that I am explaining this correctly and will take a look at the web site you sent to me to see if there is anything there that will help with what I want to do. Sandy D
