I am looking for DVD burning software that will let me put up to 8 hours on one single-layer DVD. Anyone know where I can find that? Also it would be nice if it didn't take like 6 friggin hours to render...

My system specs are:
1.7GHz AMD Athlon XP 2100+
256MB DDR400 Ram
120GB 7200RPM Maxtor
16x Dual Layer NEC DVD-Burner

DVD quality adheres to a certain standard (MPEG2).. in terms of res and bitrate. You can't compress & shrink 8 hrs of movies on to 1 disc. 1 1/2- 2 hour length is the limit before there is a noticeable loss in quality.

Even if you reduce bitrate to 3000kbps (SVCD quality) for video, that still only equates to about to 3 1/2 hours.
Want faster rendering speed? Get faster computer and use a better professional commercial encoder like Main Concept or Cinemacraft encoder. wink.gif

Try using DVD Shrink to shrink the files then burn to dvd we had some DL DVD's that didn't work just right so what we did is used DVD shrink to shrink them to fit on regular DVD and all is well now

hi, you can try free dvd creator, you should set "low video resolution" to get more files to burn on one single-layer DVD. But maybe 6 hours can put on one dvd. And you'd better use DVD-R to burn.
