Hi I used cdex to encode my cds to lame mp3. I saved the music to the mymusic folder. After I encode a cd I go to mymusic folder and double click the album m3u. itunes automatically comes up and starts playing the music, no problem. But when I connect my ipod to update it the songs will not go on it. And then I noticed an exclamation point it looks like, right in front of the songs I encoded in itunes. I have cdex_151 and lame 3.96.1. I used the alt. presettings. I actually used the cdex user guide from this website to set up cdex. Please help.

Well something to do with IPOD and doesn't like the encoding settings. Try standard MP3 settings using CDEx.
I don't like itunes so not familar with it. (probably doesn't like non-standard MP3s)

If using itunes for updating ipod, why not use same app to import/rip/encode MP3 music? wink.gif

Just a useless comment from me tongue.gif but Mischcabob is right:

QUOTE(apple.com: iTunes Features)
To import songs into iTunes, just insert a CD into your computer and click Import CD. Or set up iTunes to automatically add music when you insert a CD. Either way, iTunes imports music in a snap. iTunes saves music from your CDs as high-quality AAC files — a format that builds upon state-of-the-art audio technology from Dolby Labs. But you can choose different audio formats, too. iTunes lets you convert music to MP3s at high bit-rate at no extra charge.

I have an iPod but would never use iTunes.
But you have it, you use it, why don't you rip to mp3 and choose the "Apple way"? laugh.gif
