How am I supposed to play MP4 files encoded with the X264 codec? I mean, shouldn't a combination of ffdshow & Matroska splitter be sufficient? If someone has a sure way to play them... anyway thx in advance
btw hi everyone

Hi there draickin!
Yes, it should be enough. However, if you still have problems install x264 video codec.
You may also try to play the files with MPlayer Frontend (MPF) or MPUI, 2 wonderful GUIs/frontends for the well-known and much appreciated, MPlayer - it doesn't need external codecs.

Well I downloaded the x264 codec, but is there a compatible player for it? Unfortunatly I have a 56K modem and a dial up connection, so I have to wait more than have an hour to download the other players you suggested...

Almost all DirectShow players (Windows Media Players, Media Player Classic...) are compatible
Use WellGet or other file manager. It will speed up and resume your downloads.
