hi ,
i installed real alt v.1.48 on clean computer, that is, no other real players at all on machine. it installed just fine, however, when i went to try and open some .ram files, i got a error the same as you did. it said...could not render file due to pins in graph missing. ...or words to that effect. now try this because it sure worked for me:

download the .ram file [ for example: hurl.ram] into a folder. go to that folder and highlight the file by right clicking on it. open the file using textpad or similar program like notepad will probably work as well. when it opens, you should see a file string that reads something like........rtsp....etc. highlight and copy this string.

then go and open your browser window and on the URL line paste in that rtsp string and click GO. the file will play in media player classic. as a side note, i have found that this procedure is not always necessary in order for media player classic to work ref. .ram files. it does open other .ram files just fine. i only use this when the normal approach will not work. it is a inconvience, but try this. hope this helps you.

ps/ i am using media player classic v.6.4.8.9 the latest one and real alt v1.48, but this procedure should still work. you must do this also: open your real alt player, open up options, view and click on formats. In the list, make sure you have these 3 items checked: Real Audio, Real Media and Real Script. let me know if this helped you. email me: marcus_absent55@hotmail.com
