i was working on a comp lab. i can' t login as an admin so i can't install quicktime because it install itself to the windows directory which i have no access. i need a software which run by itself and open mov files. or maybe a converter to avi.
I tried ace it installs normally but can't open mov files. for converter i use rad game tools but it didn't install because of priviligies. ineed a good sofware which runs alone.

Almost every program (those i know - players, converters) need an access to the WINDOWS directory where the decoders/encoders are located by default. So you should have an access...

BTW only MOV files don't play?

Maybe re-access your situation... maybe they don't want you to access or install unecessary software in comp lab. Best to look at big picture when comes to safety/security... restrictions are in place for a reason. rolleyes.gif

Of course, easy work around is to ask for password or consent to install this program. unsure.gif

I agree with you. They just don't care that lab so i want to solve that problem by myself.
