Hi all,

i have tried to install my second dvd rom into my machine but with no sucess.I already have a dvd re-writer as my main drive but wish to install second one as a slave to do dvd copying etc.When i connected up the comp did not like it and got stuck on the windows start up page.I then tried going into the safe mode and used plug n play new hardware to install, but did not like that either and kept coming up with unplug hardware screen and flashing cd-rom which i didnt understand.I asked my mate and he said that i need to go into the bios and alter the settings to tell it to use my main dvd re-writer as a master and the 2nd one as a slave drive,Also to switch over a switch on the back of the dvd player.this is all bla bla bla ba to me can anyone help me to solve this in a manner i would understand.

friend you are so confused in all this it is simple follow the steps
1 you should have two ide cables for this
2 you have to insert the hdd to te primary ie the extreme end of cable and one slave dvd drive ie in middle
3 add other dvd to slave again ie midlle one
4 make sure to remove all the jumpers from both dvd so as to act slave
5 here we go u are all set for two drive
