some of the places where i use computers are still on windows 98. quicktime 7 will not install on these systems and neither does the quicktime alternative player for windows xp. i was wondering if it would be difficult to detect how the program identifies the operating system the machine is on and if some code could be written to make the program think it is on windows xp when it is actually on windows 98.

Just use older version or try updating you OS. Most programs are dropping support for WIN9X/ME anyway. wink.gif
