Full Version: Darkening of videos....

Whenever I watch a video of any type/extension in WMP, or realplayer, or any downloaded free players (like winamp and 3 more), the video is darkened. It’s as if the brighteness has been set down, but it hasn’t. Moving it up doesn’t correct this. It’s something else that is wrong, but I can’t figure out what.

This is very weird because it is across all different players, and file types.

However, quicktime can run files without any problem.

This first started happening a month ago or so, and I have no idea why.

I have tried re-installing codec packs and so on, but to no avail.

Help!

I am having the same problem. I am running XP and WMP 10 (upgraded to 11, same deal). I tried DivX and ffdshow.

However, there are two interesting observations:

* I play a DivX video in WMP, it's dark. Then I launch DivX player (just launch it). The video in WMP becomes normal.
* Media Player Classic seems to play the video fine.

Weird. Any suggestions?
