Ok, to impres my wife, I bought this card to install it into the computer, yes i can do all the set up, get all the functions to work, as long as I do not try to copy a damn thing.

I have plugged our old video recorder into the card through the RCA connections, White-Red-Yellow, all is well I get a great picture on the screen, and now all i want to do is make files onto the computer copied from the video tapes that are piled high enough that I have small fears of the climb I will have to do to escape the room.

I have tried many formats, I copy for a minute and then test the quality of the playback, the size of the file and its sound.

For a 1 minute file I have managed to creat monsters, bigger than almost any other file I have in the rest of the computer..I try to make the files smaller, and the computer hangs after about a minute, I copy direct to DVD, using the direct DVD, I get a reasonable picture on the DVD, but no sound. It matters not, because I have no clue.

I need some small tips, advice (polite) and ideas.

To give an idea, I have a few "video files" copied from the net, they are small, 185M in size, excellent quality Half hour shows etc, but I have no idea on how to manage copy from my video through the card to get that same effect....

HELP HELP HELP....I would cut the wrists, but then I would have to clean the keyboard all over again, Ihave bashed against the screen, but my head hurts, and I have yelled at the little man on the screen whilst closing illegal function boxes..the wife is in the other room wearing ear muiffs, But hey, she does that anyway...
