I apparently have a good pc, 2 gig ram, 4200 dual AMD processor 64bit yadda yadda, and a hell of a lot of HD space. BUT I went and placed a v capture card into the system thinking that I would be able to convert all my old videos into small files and eventually onto DVD.
I have used the great and simple programme called Super DVD ripper to convert some of my favorite (fully owned by me) movies into smaller 700-900meg files on my hard space, but it is when I venture beyond that to the direct input and codec nightmares that I still have not yet managed to master a single file that is worthy of a 5 year old newbie on a main frame.
SO here I tell you what card I have...
I have the leadtek winpro 2000 expert video capture card
Win fast bundle software
Cool 3d Software and
Video Studio 8
BUT my hair is thining out as no matter how hard I try, and the total lack of knowledge, when I try to transfer my video tapes through the avi inputs I can only get MASSIVE files that are good quality but how the hell do I get them to be smaller and manageable like the super dvd ripper...
A half hour tape takes up more space then three dvds?
I am open to suggestions that do not involve bodily harm or impossibilities to do with my body...
Andrew...
