Ok, so i just got a new monitor to connect to my laptop docking station. It's an NEC and wasn't too cheap either. Anyway, my problem is that there is a lag on the new monitor. The mouse does not have a smooth motion and sometimes jumps. Does anybody know what this could be?

I tried to contact the place where I bought it from, but they were no help. The mouse works great on the laptop screen, but as soon as I drag it over to the new screen, it jumps and doesnt seem to move instantaneously.

Please help.

Thanks.

Do other things go slow as well or is it just the mouse cursor?

Yes, I am noticing that there is also a lag when I type.

Ok, it sounds like it's just the monitor then, whats the exact model?
pnowok

Was there any Monitor driver or disk included? Many new monitors may not be recognized and
configured properly out of the box.

Is your mouse connected via USB to your new monitor? Ensure you have latest mouse drivers installed (wireless optical is susceptible to lag/jerky movement). Don't forget about updating your display driver... need to set VSync, screen refresh rate, resolution etc. properly on new monitor.

There was not a disk included for the monitor.

How do I update my display driver? (set VSync, screen refresh rate, etc?)??
