So i use nero vision 3 for video composing but i recently updated to the newest version of the k-lite pack, and it causes nero vision to crash. the real problem is that i want to use 3gp videos in my video compositions, and when i uninstalled k-lite i couldn't use them anymore in nero vision. Can anyone tell me what part of the new k-lite pack is causing nero vision to crash, or maybe help me get specific codecs for the 3gp formats, and mp4 encoded .AVI files?
thank

Use the
Codec Tweak Tool. With its codec management you can disable/enable every codec and filter that was installed by K-Lite.

ok, so the
codec tweak tool is no help to me as i have no idea how to keep the few codecs i want with it. Upon multiple installs and experimentation i found that deselecting FFDshow as the default decoder for all file types will keep it from crashing nero (ya, it was the problem) but then i cant use it to decode my 3gp files...... i'm kinda running out of ideas here, if anyone can help i'd greatly appreciate it.

I don't have K-Lite Codec Pack but I do have Matroska Pack that includes FFDshow. I also have Nero OEM Suite 3 which includes Nero Vision Express 3. I had a problem getting any of my video files to either add or play in Nero Vision Express 3. The answer I found was to not install avi portion of Haali Media Splitter, if you have that and to disable raw video in FFDshow, and everything was fine. I even enabled the rest of the codecs in FFDshow video and audio. Don't know if that will work but you can try it. If you have to try uninstalling your codec pack and then reinstalling with the way I did it above I guess.

You could try to let K-Lite install the regular DivX and Xvid decoders. And let ffdshow decode the other formats.
For 3gp you need to enable H.263 video and AMR audio in ffdshow.
