Hey there,

Yeah, so I recently got an album where everything seemed to be m4a extension - Alac I think?

No problem, I thought. So I booted up Winamp to try and run it but no luck. Unrecognised File Type.

Okay, so I do some searching and get plugins - still no luck?

Try to run through Media Player Classic - just a shot - and still nothing.

Tried CONVERTING it and something called Haali Media Splitter pops up saying "MP4; NO FILES" or something like that - The files are m4a though? I thought mp4 was the protected content side of things.

-Cut this story here for a sec-

With any quicktime file I open from FIREFOX I get a smooth picture but the audio is f**ked. Rendering problems or something..The audio stutters and is really nasty.

With IE it's fine?

-Bring the story back-

So I try to put these m4a's into Quicktime player and it works! But you've guessed it, the audio is stuttery.

Can ANYone help me solve this problem? I've tried getting codec packs here and there - I know you shouldn't really do this but yeah..I'm desperate haha. Also, it hasn't seemed to mess up anything else...haven't seen a change.

If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it so much!

Thanks for reading anyway,

Riley.

Mmm I put iTunes in and converted them to AAC - Winamp seems to handle them.

But any ideas on the stuttering watching quicktime material via firefox?
