To anyone who is able to provide advice and direction...

I currently am running XP with WMP 11... I also have installed the K-Lite Codec Pack as I am a habitual downloader Music, Video Streaming entertainment etc. and this seems to cover most of the varying downloads I get on Bittorrent or various streams I want to watch. My questions start here... Still not everything media and audio related will play through WMP. Is there anyway of configuring it using codecs packs and filters so that it will play basically any media download or stream that I come across, Real stuff etc. included? Is there a better media player available that I should install and configure that will serve these purposes better? With better library management than WMP? (Any tips here regarding configuring WMP better to manage library or radio stations also much appreciated) When installing the K-Lite pack it suggests to uninstall any other Codecs packs, is there a Codecs pack with WMP that would conflict with K-Lite (I have seen no problems in relation to this yet but want to be sure). Is it neccessary to uninstall it if this is possible?

A friend has purchased some DVD's and VCD's (Chinese - we are living in China) and she is struggling to get these to work. I think it is probably a Codecs problem but if I install the K-Lite Codecs pack on her laptop will this interfere/conflict with other stuff she has installed?

Anyone with knowledge about movie and Internet or streamed TV that is available to me here in China who can suggest where I may be able to find free streams of international sport or TV channels or movies. A few friends here in China have suggested various sites like PPTV and others but they all seem to end up with virus and spyware problems after installing the software or players required to view the media from these sites...

I guess I should limit my post here... Any information or advice anyone can provide to me here or directions to where I can find out for myself is greatly appreciated and if there is anything I can help you with in return, try me.

A big cheers to all,

Nick
