I installed k-lite codec and my DVD burner stopped working. It writes at.4 or .5x and quits.
It plays DVDs and read disc as before but can't write with any platform,i.e., Ulead burn now,
dvd decrypter, magic, etc.PLEASE HELP

This has absolutely nothing to do with K-Lite. If you don't believe me, just uninstall it and you'll see the problem is still there. K-Lite has millions of users and I have never see any reports of DVD burning problems.

It is possible that your burner is just damaged. Burners deteriorate if you use them a lot. Or you are using too cheap recordable DVDs. Use a quality brand like Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.

That was the weirdest thing. The burner was working fine. I'd just burned a couple of disc about 1/2 hour before. I installed K-lite, and burner stopped working. Thanks for the help. I installed another burner, and everything is fine. What are the odds of that happening. Knowing K-lite had nothing to do with my problem put me in the right direction and saved a lot of time
