Hi,

I'm a newbie !!!

I have a couple of problems, (one fixed I hope).

I have Windows Media Player 11, (running on Windows XP). There was no sound when playing DVD's using WMP. I thought it was due to the fact that I have recently installed Nero 6 and I have heard that it "steals" certain components of WMP. Anyway, tried to burn a copy of my wedding DVD using Nero-Video. Perfect picture but no sound on the disc after burning, (tried all formats of DVD player).

I have since done some digging around and found that codecs is a common problem so downloaded the XP-Pack. Now WMP works fine with DVD's, (hurray), but Nero still burns DVD discs with no sound.

My questions are...

a) Which pack did I need - I couldn't decide whether I needed XP-Pack or the K-Lite Pack.

cool.gif The XP-Pack has indeed fixed the Windows Media Player problem - but should it fix the Nero problem, (no sound on burnt discs).

I must admit, when I burnt the DVD's, Nero did initially tell me that I needed a Dolby add-on as it couldn't burn this format. Do codecs fix this kind of problem or are they related to something completely different. I didn't think my wedding DVD was in Dolby anyway !!!

Advice appreciated.
