Attempting to play a movie, I get the following msg: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
How can I resolve this issue? I downloaded the Codec Pack for XP and still get this msg. Please offer suggestions.
Thanks,
AZRICH

Are you using media player classic? For some reason wmp11 doesn't work but media player classic does. maybe that's why k-lite chose media player classic. I have video's in mpeg-4 format and they aren't supported by wmp11 so I'm stuck using media player classic. I have a networked media tank (popcornhour) which I can play my video's on my hdtv in 1080p or stream them on my pc from the popcornhour. But popcornhour uses wmp11 not classic which is dissapointing. sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

Thanks, Richard, I'll try the classic.
