I was using screen capture software to record videos in .mpeg format, and have found they play fine until I try to skip to other portions of the clips - it takes ~3 mins (if I skip to half way through). I seem to recall something about complex indexes (not to have them too complex when encoding) slowing down the seeking in a video. I had no control of that sort of thing in this program. I was wondering if there was a tool that could help me rebuild the index (I know there is for Divx. I just hope I don't have to reencode my videos. They are quite large, but my large .mpeg files from other program encodings aren't slow to seek.
Any suggestions?
