Hi all,

I want to convert any video file to AVI format but the output file should be played on the XP - SP2 and above having default codec. ( No need to install any decoder to decode the output file / Should use the already present default coder present )

Could you please suggest me which AVI encoder codec to be use for this purpose.

I suggest you download and install avi codec :
XviD-1.1.0.exe： http://www.winavi.com/download/XviD-1.1.0.exe
DivX521XP2K.exe： http://www3.winavi.com/download/DivX521XP2K.exe
Also,if you like,you can download the latest k-lite package : http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
this package can solve many problems.

Dear Friend,

I have installed K-Lite Codec Final Pack 5.0 but still following format files are not playing over it.

.avi

.video file

.wmf

.rm

.rm

.ra

Please inform which Codec i should install to run desired audio/video files.

If KLite codec pack is installed and configured properly, Media Player Classic should
play most formats properly.
