That one is the CD bootable version ... still good but cant install it just run it off CD.

You know Mandrake/Mandriva is a pretty good one too, and it is free unless you want extra programs, which you can get other ways:

Guess depends if you want to install the "real thing" on hard drive or run emulation off the CD.

Most distros have downloadable images available for free (2-3 cds). Just get it from their ftp sites. Mandrake, Suse, RedHat, whatever etc. I would have given my username/pw for my LInSPIRE account, but won't make a difference since it's the same BOOT CD (that Euromix gave you).

Ahh .. yes almost forgot ... Linspire is .... how should I say ... not worth downloading. Ok, to be fair here is overview:

Pros:
- Can read NTFS volumes (some Linux distros can't ... i.e. Fedora Core etc.)
- Can acess Window$ partitions (some Linux distros can't ... i.e. Fedora Core etc.)
Note: both of the above are irrelevant if you are not dual-booting. (I'm not dual-booting anymore ... Window$ will never see my laptop ever again)

Cons:
- Tech support is there but useless ... they do not know what they are doing
- Software is outdated
- Boot loader is outdated
- Boot process takes forever (some Linux distros boot very fast i.e. Fedora Core etc.)
- Difficult to install software (errors and other difficulties while installing)
- Outdated device drivers (my modem would not work with Linspire ... it does work with Fedora Core)
- Confusing (Window$-like) interface (unlike some other distros ... Fedora for one)
- Programs tend to run slower than on other distros (like Fedora)

Ok .... I'm currently running Fedora Core 4, and it is way better than Linspire. I've tried SUSE ... it failed to install ... would not recognize my hard-drive. Tried Mandriva (Mandrake) ... similar to Linspire .. but slightly better (bit faster, easier installs)... far less software than say Fedora Core, though. So, I would rate the 3 OS's that actually worked (excluding SUSE, since it failed):

Fedora Core 4 > Mandriva 10.1 > Linspire 5.0

I have heard SUSE has more software ... so it might not be that bad as long as it works.
